About This Painting
This is the only one of the House Pet series painted on a small canvas, done to reflect the 'smallest room in the house' and to accommodate the probability of limited wall space, or maybe even hung on the outside of a bathroom door as a 'Toilet' sign replacement.
The Dung beetle was the first and most obvious choice of a pet for this particular room. His ball of dung is textured with the dried Pampas grass as in Elephant in the Room and on the walls of Up the Grassy ‘Stares’. The implication being that this is the 'house cleaner’ if viewed in context with the series.
This is the second of the House Pets series.
